Jack's Readin' Writin' and 'Rithmitic
Just a quick note to point out how much Jack is learning these days. Last week I put a desk in his room because he said he needed a place to do "homework." He likes to sit at his desk and write books, stories, draw, etc. He has been writing books since I read to him about the author of the "No David!" books who wrote his first book when he was little with the only 2 words he could write - No and his Name. Jack likes to write his books on post it notes because when they are still together, they are like tiny books. Mostly the stories have random letters and the occasional word like "Jack", "No", and "Yes". Writing stories is Jack's favorite lesson at school. He usually writes one everyday.
Last night he was transcribing lyrics from a song from school. The lyrics are Knock, Knock Opportunity...
He wrote it out phonetically - Nok, Nok, Opartet. Pretty good for a 5 year old!
Our babysitter, Jennifer, gave him a calculator yesterday for his "homework". He has been amazing us with math equations like 200+200=400.
And he also knows our home telephone number. So smart!
