Bluff Park Art Festival 2007

One of my favorite of the many festivals around Birmingham is a one day art show and festival in a nearby area- Bluff Park. Lots of artists bring work to show, the local high school jazz bands play, the Jaycees serve food and their is a playground smack in the middle of it. We ran into two of Jack's friends from schoool, Grace and Houston.

This year the kids were old enough to participate in the art area for children. They made so many different projects -from edible necklaces to marble paintings to face painting. Grandmother and I even managed to walk around and look at the art for a minute. I bought a neat drawing of a bird that is an optical illusion. It is actually flowers, not feathers.

We also rode the bus to the festival area. Big excitement for Jack and Charlie. Nothing like the Big Cheese for a good time.

Here's the link if you are ever in Birmingham around the first Saturday of October, it's a fun time.
