Space Museum

We had a mini- "bacation" to Huntsville yesterday. Mommy, Grandmother, Jack and Charlie headed over to Huntsville for the Space and Rocket Museum. We began our stay at the ever-popular Hampton Inn. I think that Jack and Charlie think that all hotels are the same since they have only ever been in Hampton Inns.
We had a dip in the pool- baby Thomas and Kim came to join us. Then we all went over to the Huntsville Mall to play at the indoor playground and have dinner. A quick shopping excursion and then it was off to see the movie, Wall-e. It fit well with our whole space trip theme.
The next day we had another quick swim, lunch at Chik fil A and then on to the SPACE MUSEUM! Charlie told everyone we saw that we were going there and he would say it with the most excited little voice.
We couldn't get over how GIANT the Saturn V was. We a lot of time in the first building just marveling over the size and playing with the computers. Then we went to the second building and went inside the manned compartment of a rocket (Charlie's favorite) and tried to simulate a shuttle landing (Jack's favorite). I couldn't get over the exhibit that showed all the products that were made possible by the space program - like WD40 and pacemakers. After the exhibit we went to the play area. There was a little rocket ride, but Jack and Charlie were a little skeptical and passed on that option. They just enjoyed the playground until it was time to go. Another quick visit to Brax, Kim and Thomas' house and then we were on our way back to Birmingham.
